Journey Distance
Road distance in miles. The base fare covers the first 5 miles; the per-mile rate for the selected vehicle class applies to every additional mile. This is the dominant pricing variable.
Vehicle Type
Vehicle class determines the base fare and per-mile rate. Moving from a Saloon to an MPV7 for the same journey increases the fare in line with the higher per-mile rate for that class.
Passenger Numbers & Luggage
Passenger count determines the minimum vehicle class required. More than 4 passengers requires an MPV. Luggage may require upgrading to an Estate or larger MPV. The vehicle class selected sets the fare.
Journey Time & Traffic
Traffic does not change the fixed fare. It changes how long the journey takes, not the price confirmed at booking. No additional charge applies for time spent in traffic.
Additional Charges

Journey Distance
The most significant variable. A longer journey means more miles at the per-mile rate, producing a higher fare. Short London journeys are dominated by the base fare; longer journeys by the per-mile component. A 50-mile journey generates 45 additional miles beyond the first 5, all charged at the vehicle's per-mile rate.
Vehicle Requirements
Vehicle class is the second-largest pricing variable. Moving from a Saloon (£1.30/mile) to an Executive MPV (£2.10/mile) increases the fare substantially over longer distances. For a 50-mile journey, the difference between a Saloon and an Executive MPV is approximately £42 over the 45 additional miles beyond the first 5.
Airport Transfers
Airport journeys include the applicable drop-off charge. Stansted £10 and Heathrow £7 are incorporated into the fare shown by our calculator. No other airports carry a mandatory drop-off surcharge in our pricing. These charges do not appear as a separate item on the day of travel.
Long-Distance Journeys
Over a long journey, the per-mile rate compounds significantly.
