Fulham and West London Traffic
Fulham sits on the western side of London, and the routes heading east toward the M11 run through several of the busiest road corridors in the city. The A4/Cromwell Road approach, the Embankment, and the various central London routes can all back up significantly from 7am through 10am.

Cross-London Congestion
Getting from Fulham to the M11 requires crossing London in a broadly east-west direction. Depending on the route taken, this can mean the City, Tower Hamlets, Stratford, or the North Circular approach — all of which carry heavy traffic at peak times. This is the key difference between a Fulham-to-Stansted journey and one starting from east London: Fulham adds the cross-London leg before the motorway.

Central and East London Road Conditions
The Blackwall Tunnel, Stratford junction, and the A12 east of London all have a direct impact on journey times from west London. None of these are the starting point for the journey, but they sit in the path between Fulham and the M11.

M11 Traffic
North of the M25, the M11 is generally clear, but the Junction 7–8 section approaching Stansted Airport can slow noticeably during peak departure windows and on busy travel days.

Stansted Airport Access
The airport approach road can queue when multiple departures cluster in a short window. This is usually a short delay but is worth knowing about if your timing is already tight.
A 1h05 road estimate is a best-case figure. For a 9am departure, the journey from Fulham can realistically take 1h40 or more.
