The Arriva 724 is the only direct bus between Hatfield and Heathrow. It costs from roughly £8–£10 per journey depending on the time, is the cheapest for a solo traveller, and takes about 2h18 via Rickmansworth and Uxbridge. But: it does not serve Terminal 4, and the last departure from Hatfield is 23:59 (Arriva UK Bus, July 2026; verify).
The train
There is no direct train, but the change is clean and underground. Board at Hatfield, leave at Finsbury Park (not King's Cross), then take the Piccadilly line direct to Heathrow. Fastest 1h23, average 2h04, from £18.90 cheapest to roughly £56.67 typical (Trainline, London Drum, July 2026; verify).

Terminal 4 is the critical gap. The Arriva 724 was withdrawn from T4 in 2008, so a T4 passenger ends a 2h18 bus ride with an inter-terminal transfer. Our fare is the same £65.10 to all four terminals.

Your driver waits inside arrivals at Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5 with a name board. We time the pickup from the actual landing rather than the schedule. Free waiting runs 45–60 minutes after you land.
The University of Hertfordshire generates more Hatfield to Heathrow transfers than anything else in the town. Four students sharing a saloon from Hatfield pay £16.28 a head — half a single Trainline ticket. End-of-term arrivals after the 724 stops (before 06:00) are where the car wins.
