East Midlands Airport is only about 13–15 miles from Derby (~20 min drive) and is genuinely great for short-haul European leisure routes, holiday charters and some domestic connections — we run fixed-fare transfers there too. But EMA serves a limited network of airlines and destinations, weighted towards budget carriers. Heathrow is the UK's global hub with far more airlines, all the major alliances (Star at T2, Virgin/Emirates at T3, SkyTeam at T4, BA at T5) and intercontinental destinations EMA cannot serve. For long-haul, connecting or through-ticketed flights, the drive to Heathrow is usually the only realistic choice.
