Fares & the arithmetic behind them
6 Seater Taxi Prices: The Card, the Crossover, the Cheapest Honest Answer
The fares sit mid-page on purpose — the decision and the spec come first, because a price only helps once you know the car fits. Here is the formula we charge from, worked airport examples, and the arithmetic behind the two questions every six-seat booker eventually asks.
The published MPV6 formula
No meter, no surge multiplier, no night or weekend uplift. Ranking rivals anchor at '6-seater from £100' or publish route tables with no formula behind them — a 'from' price tells you the cheapest journey someone else once took; a published basis tells you your own fare. We print the basis.
Example airport fares from the card
*Indicative fares computed from the published MPV6 tier (£34.50 minimum + £1.50 per mile after 5 miles). Your exact fixed fare is confirmed in writing at booking for your pickup postcode, date, time and requirements. Flight tracking and 60 minutes complimentary waiting apply on airport pickups.
The crossover: one MPV6 vs two saloons
Six people can always split into two ordinary taxis — so when does one bigger car win? On our own card, almost immediately. Worked to central London → Stansted (~38 mi):
Two saloons
Split into two cabs
Each: £30.00 min + £1.30/mi after 5 miles
Each fare: £30 + (33 × £1.30) = £72.90
Two saloons combined:
£145.80
VS
One MPV6
One car, one arrival time
£34.50 min + £1.50/mi after 5 miles
£34.50 + (33 × £1.50) = £84.00
One driver, one pickup, one boot:
£84.00
Save around £61.80 — one driver, one pickup time, nobody's luggage in the wrong car.
To Heathrow the same maths runs £91.20 (two saloons) against £52.50 (one MPV6). The real answer to 'cheap 6 seater taxi near me' is usually the single six-seater.

If only five of you travel with light luggage
Our Estate (up to 5 passengers / 4 cases) runs central London to Stansted at about £75.75 — £8.25 less than the six-seater. Tell us your real passenger and bag count and we will quote the smallest car that honestly fits, not the largest one you asked about.
